The environment in which I live has greatly inspired my work, from my series of city centric bone china ?Lightscapes when living and studying in Melbourne, to my current sculptural work based on the wet tropics rainforest since living in far North Queensland.During many walks through the rainforest, I enjoy observing the amazing diversity of all the plants and wildlife of this very special place.The impact of my sculptural work relies on naturalistic representations of our fauna in collective installations to create a visual narrative about endangered species, habitat loss but also the significant intrinsic worth of our wet tropics rainforest.My intention is that my work will inspire and encourage a discourse in our society to proactively appreciate and preserve our priceless, irreplaceable landscape and its inhabitants.
