About

John Dermer worked with the salt-glaze process and production tableware from 1967. In 1974, he moved to Yackandandah, building a house and studio from where he still works. John holds an annual exhibition each year in his studio at the end of November, the first of which was in 1978.

In November 2017, an exhibition was held in Yackandandah to celebrate John’s 50th year as a potter and the publication of “Celebrating the Journey, 50 years at the potters wheel”.  For more information about the book click HERE or contact John directly.

In 2019, the National Gallery of Victoria honoured John with a survey/retrospective exhibition. John has now stopped making tableware after more than 50 years, but continues to work in terra sigillata and salt-glazing on porcelain.
