Unearthed Ceramics – Wurundjeri Country

Melbourne-based ceramicist Katrina Carling has been honing her skills in Pottery since 2014. Originally an Interior Designer, Katrina has blended her knowledge for creating thoughtful and contemporary interior design, with bespoke handmade ceramics. This is a perfect marriage between two of her passions, conscious design and handmade craft.

Katrina makes her ceramics in her garden studio in Preston, using traditional methods reflecting her respect for slow movement. Hand-thrown on a wheel, all her work is then glazed with studio made glazes and fired on site.

“Making Ceramics is a life lesson in Patience, Presence and Practice…if you can achieve all three, then the ideas are endless and the pleasure in making pieces that people love and use in their daily lives, is a humbling outcome”.

Katrina’s Unearthed Ceramics has been represented in several collaborative group shows, and the ever-evolving breadth of work is now available through the National Gallery of Australia, Spacecraft, and other select stockists.
