Ceramic Arts Qld is a not-for-profit volunteer run organisation that was formed in Brisbane in 1968 (formerly Queensland Potters Association/Fusions).

We foster an inclusive and unified ceramic art community in QLD and northern NSW. Our mission is to elevate, celebrate, and stimulate ceramic arts in all sectors of society through advocacy, fellowship, learning, and endeavour.

CAQ’s annual program includes the Members’ Exhibition, the Toolkit Workshop series presented by professional ceramicists from Australia and abroad, a quarterly CAQ Bulletin publication which showcases ceramic-specific articles, and the fortnightly Flash newsletter through which we share current events and opportunities. New members are always welcome.

CAQ’s premier event is the biennial Siliceous Award for Ceramic Excellence which is a recognition of artistic excellence and innovation in ceramics. Since being established in 2015, the Siliceous Award has grown in profile and now receives local, national, and international media coverage. It attracts a high standard of entries from both full-time career artists and enthusiasts around Australia.
