About

I create both sculptural and practical pieces, inspired by place, water and the land. I like exploring stories about place and reflecting on my own emotional response, especially to the places I love. My studio is set in the bush, in a dry, flinty landscape that gleams with the white trunks of Yellow Gums and the soft greys of Grey Box, and of course kangaroos. My ceramics are generally mid-fired, using terracotta and other warm-toned clays, often clothed with the sheen of terra sigillata from local clay, and sometimes with slips and glazes. I like working in a series, making whole families of pieces.
