Kate Dorrough’s ceramic work focuses on the relationship and interplay between the gestural painterly mark and the hand built three-dimensional form; it is a conversation between paint and clay. She is represented by Art House Gallery, NSW, with previous solo exhibitions held at Catherine Asquith Gallery, VIC, Edwina Corlette Gallery, QLD, Beaver Art Galleries, ACT and Access Contemporary Art Gallery, NSW. Selected for the 2014 Australian Ceramics Association Biennial Exhibition, Manly Art Gallery & Museum; 29^th Gold Coast Ceramic Art Award; 2011 Hidden, Rookwood Sculpture Walk; 2010 Sawmillers Sculpture Prize and Sculpture in the Vineyards; and the 2008 and 2010 Woollahra Small Sculpture Prize. Kate has undertaken residencies at the Art Gallery of NSW Denise Hickey Studio, Paris; the Hill End Artists Residency, NSW; the Artist in Residence, Bundanon Trust, NSW; and The Art Vault, VIC, which have all been a major influence in her art practice.
