About

As a figurative ceramicist, my practice explores what it means to inhabit the human body, a site from which the unconscious internal world is populated, by feelings, experiences, and memories, and through which inner states are projected, as variations of ourselves. Narratives of the human condition allow for the exploration of presence and the examination of self. As a ‘cultural hybrid’, I explore identity, history, human interaction and relationships. I employ the figure as a map to human experience, the body, ever present, is a source connecting place, time and memory. My figurative forms aim to offer insight into deeper physiological elements, subcultures and everyday life, leading to the questioning of our realities and perceptions.
