About

Yvette De Lacy is a ceramic artist who produces her ceramics under the name Mountain Clay. She lives and works up in her studio in the beautiful Kinglake Ranges in Victoria. Yvette hand makes all her ceramic pieces here, from the designing to the making, decorating, glazing and firing. She is inspired by the huge Mountain Ash gum trees and mountains that surround her home, but is also drawn to the oceans and bays when holidaying. Her work is functional and decorative, with sculptural elements included. Yvette completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts majoring in Ceramics at Victorian College of the Arts in 1993. She also has a Diploma of Education in Visual Arts from the University of Melbourne and teaches ceramics part time at a local Secondary College.
